In a virtual press briefing on Monday, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque reminded the public that the whole country is still under community quarantine, despite the easing of restrictions brought about by the shift of most areas to modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) and some into general enhanced community quarantine (GECQ).
The spokesperson have this reminder after reports of crowding in some reopened malls and establishments last Saturday.
[The virus is still there, while there is not vaccine nor cure. We are not yet safe from COVID-19.]
Roque even quoted the viral ‘classroom’ one-liner of actress Kim Chiu in a bid to appeal to the masses.
[A viral post even mentioned this, I know you all know who said this. No one is allowed to go outside, but if we complied and followed the rules, observed proper hygiene such as washing hands, wearing of face masks or face shield, and adhering to social distancing and other health protocols, we can flatten the curve, then we will be allowed to go outside.]
He also warned the public that cases in the country will increase if proper protocols are not followed, like other countries have.
