The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is hopeful that the second wave of cash aid can be distributed by this week, though there is still the process of validation of the first batch of beneficiaries still ongoing.
“Ninanais natin na simulan ang pamamahagi ng ayuda sa linggong ito ngunit gusto nating bigyang diin na napakahalaga ang ating ginagawang validation process,” said DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista.
[We hope to start giving the aid this week but we would like to emphasize the importance of our validation process.]
About 13.5 million families will benefit from the second tranche of the ocial Amelioration Program (SAP). This includes the five million families who were “waitlisted” beneficiaries of the first wave.
The DSWD chief wants to speed up distribution and complete it within the month. For this last wave, the department partnered up with digital platforms such as the Relief Agad app, where residents can submit online the information on their SAP cards and forms. The app was in collaboration with PayMaya Philippines, Inc. which provides mobile wallets.
