Mass gatherings in colleges, universities now permitted in MCGQ

Mass gatherings in colleges and universities are now allowed in zones under modified general community quarantine, Malacañang announced on Saturday.

Pinayagan na rin ang mass gatherings sa higher educational institutions ngunit kailangan silang sumunod sa existing guidelines sa ilalim ng MGCQ,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual briefing.

[Mass gatherings in higher educational institutions have already been allowed, but these have to abide with the existing guidelines under MGCQ.]

Resumption of training courses under the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority are also given the go signal in both GCQ and MGCQ areas.

Roque said technical-vocational educational training (TVET) of TESDA is now allowed in GCQ areas, while face-to-face TVET training classes are allowed in MGCQ areas up to 50 percent capacity, subject to compliance with minimum health standards and TESDA guidelines and in consultation with local government units LGUs.

House committees to hold hearings during break
