President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to announce his decision on quarantine measures to be implemented in specific areas of the country on June 30.
Currently, Metro Manila remains at general community quarantine (GCQ) while Cebu City was reverted back enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from GCQ as the government saw an unprecedented rise in COVID-19 cases.
“The President will meet the IATF on Tuesday afternoon. That will be the time he makes the announcement,” Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said.
Aside from Metro Manila, other areas in Luzon that are under GCQ are Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino and Santiago City in Cagayan Valley; Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Olongapo and Tarlac in Central Luzon; Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon in Calabarzon, and Occidental Mindoro in Mimaropa. In the Visayas, the areas under GCQ are Bohol, Cebu province, Talisay City, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City; and in Mindanao, Davao City and Zamboanga City.
