Vice President Leni Robredo called out the administration for not being able to take well-intentioned criticisms yet again on its pandemic response measures.
In her weekly radio show on Sunday, Robredo sent a message to the administration after reactions from President Rodrigo Duterte and Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque to her recommendations on what the government could still do to improve in handling COVID-19 in the country.
Galit sila pag sinabihang kulang yung response,” she said.
[You know, this government seems to be already content with its efforts, and that’s what makes it worse. They get mad when they are being told that their response is not enough. We do not improve, we already think that we’re doing so well.]
Robredo vehemently denied claims that she was “politicizing” and adding “fuel to the fire” with her suggestions.
“Wala itong pulitika.
[There’s no politics here. If we’re only after politics, I would have hinted that beforehand. I wouldn’t have given them the chance to do what needs to be done.]
