President Rodrigo Duterte told his critics that he had “no syndicate” involved in corruption, and he will resign if any proof that he had earned from corrupt acts is presented.

“I will resign if they can find me a person which says that I received one peso,” Duterte said. “Wala kayong makuha sa akinWala akong papel na pinirmahan na transaksyon sa gobyerno.”

[You’ll get nothing on me. I did not sign any paper for government transactions.]

“Do not invent a sin against me because I painstakingly avoided being a corrupt [official]… Wala akong sindikato (I don’t have any syndicate),” he added.

Duterte recently directed the justice department to conduct a government-wide investigation for corruption.
