After Typhoon Rolly hits Albay hard, leaving destruction and deaths in its path, Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara appealed for the national government’s assistance to help his province rise up after the calamity.
Bichara said in an interview that some 150 houses in a barangay in Guinobatan were struck by lahar and mudflow from Mount Mayon.
Some 150,000 residents were evacuated before the storm’s landfall but many have already returned to their homes.
However, residents who have lost everything does not have any home to return to.
[But some won’t be able to return because they lost their homes, especially in Guinobatan where houses are permanently submerged because the lahar’s direction changed and reached a sitio in a barangay.]
