‘Resign now’: Duterte tells corrupt DPWH officials

President Rodrigo Duterte gave a stern advice to officials involved in alleged anomalous projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), urging them to resign from their positions.

The president stressed that his warning on prosecution of corrupt government officials will be complied with before his term ends.

“Kayong may kasalanan diyan sa mga ganoon, I advise you to resign now,” Duterte said during his latest address.

“Resign now. Kasi pagdating ng panahon…saka makita ninyo, you’ll be prosecuted administratively and criminally, at walang patawaran dito.

[To those who are guilty of taking part in corruption, I advise you to resign now. Resign now. Because when the time comes…you’ll see, you’ll be prosecuted administratively and criminally, and there will be no forgiveness here.]

Last week, the president ordered a government-wide corruption probe, promising that his remaining years in office will focus on eradicating corruption.
