Newly-appointed vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. emphasized that his appointment to the role is meant to help Health Secretary Francisco Duque III in handling the crucial task of securing and distributing COVID-19 vaccines to millions of Filipinos.
“Naiintindihan ng mahal na Presidente na napakarami ng ginagawa ng secretary. Sabi niya tulungan mo na lang si Secretary Duque para mapaayos ang ating pagbabakuna,” Galvez shared during a media briefing also attended by Duque.
[The President understands that the Secretary is busy. He told me to help Secretary Duque to ensure a successful vaccination program.]
Last week, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases abolished a newly-formed task force led by Duque and reorganized the national task force to include a vaccine cluster headed by Galvez.
