State weather bureau PAGASA has reported that Typhoon Ulysses is now over the West Philippine Sea, however, heavy rains and strong winds are still expected in several areas.

“Inaasahan po na kikilos pa-kanluran itong bagyo diyan sa West Philippine Sea. Posible pa itong bahagyang lumakas dahil makakapag-ipon ulit ito ng enerhiya habang nasa gitna ng karagatan,” PAGASA forecaster Ariel Rojas said in a briefing.

[We expect the typhoon to continue to move west while over the West Philippine Sea. It is possible it may strengthen a little because it could gain strength while at the center of the sea.]

Ulysses, last seen 85 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales, may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday morning.
