A solon opined that previously dismissed police officers due to grave offenses should not be allowed to return to service again without a chance to appeal.

‘Pag na-dismiss ka, dapat wala nang appeal-appeal. Hindi na dapat makabalik-serbisyo yan,” Sen. Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa said.

This statement comes following Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca’s killing of two innocent neighbors whom he had a rife with. 52-year old Sonya Gregorio and her 25-year old son Frank Anthony Gregorio were brutally shot to death, defenseless from the attack of the cop.

The former Philippine National Police chief Dela Rosa explained that cops who were dismissed over charges for committing grave offenses like murder, drug trafficking, recycling of illegal drugs, kidnapping for ransom, and robbery holdup should not be allowed to use their badge and gun again.

“Magtataka ka: bakit ganon ka-bigat ang atraso nila, nakabalik sila sa serbisyo? Makita mo ngayon nandiyan, naka-uniporme na naman,” the senator stated.

Dela Rosa said he will ask his staff will look into the matter so that he may introduce amendments or measures addressing the issue soon.
