Malacañang said that more than 1.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses are expected to be delivered by the first week of April.

According to Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, 400,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine donated by China may arrive on March 23 to 24. An additional one million doses of Sinovac jabs procured by the government are slated to arrive on March 29.

The arrival of AstraZeneca vaccines acquired through the World Health Organization-led COVAX facility is also expected by the government on March 29 to April 2.

The shipment would consist of “almost one million” vaccine doses, said Roque.

“While we are enforcing additional restrictions (to contain the virus), we continue to implement our vaccination,” Roque said at a press briefing.

The COVID-19 immunization program of the Philippines began last March 1, a day after receiving the 600,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines. The country has also acquired 525,600 doses of AstraZeneca shots through the COVAX facility this month.
