PH reports more than 9,000 COVID-19 infections for third day in a row

The confirmed number of new cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines this Sunday is at 9,475, bringing the country’s total to 721,892.

This was the third straight day that the Philippines logged more than 9,000 new infections.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health also reported 22,000 new recoveries increasing the total number of Filipinos who recovered from the virus to 603,154. This was the fifth highest number of recoveries since the start of the pandemic.

This means that the country’s total number of active cases as of 4 p.m. Sunday is 105,568.

Eleven more deaths were reported from the illness, bringing the death toll for coronavirus in the Philippines to 13,170.

Sunday’s tally however excludes data from 7 labs that were not able to submit on time.
