According to Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy , 6th Infantry Division commander, a number of suspected Islamic militants made their way to Datu Paglas town in Maguindanao on Saturday morning and allegedly caused a stir among the residents. He added that the situation is now under control as the rebels have already fled.
“Less than 20 BIFF (Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters) na naghanap ng pagkain and then pinutukan nila yung police checkpoint,” said the military official.
Uy said that the incident took place at around 6:30 a.m., adding that government forces immediately responded.
“Actually walang namatay, walang nasaktan…and the situation is now under control,” he noted. There was also no property damage caused by the incident.
