The Bayanihan 3 bill was approved by the House of Representatives’ appropriations committee on Friday. This new bill provides for a new round of cash assistance for Filipinos affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The proposed third stimulus measure will also be known as the Bayanihan to Arise as One Act. It will be allotted a budget of ₱405.6 billion.
According to House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, the chamber will prioritize the said bill, which intends to recharge the Philippine economy that remains in recession amid the health crisis.
The Bayanihan 3 bill previously hurdled the House Committees on Social Services, Economic Affairs, and Ways and Means. It must still get the approval of the House plenary and the Senate.
