MANILA – The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) distributed cash to 281 families in Brgy. 754 in Malate, Manila, and 339 families in Brgy. Bagbag, Quezon City, in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
PRC continues to give support and assistance to the communities mostly affected by the pandemic, headed by Chairman and CEO Senator Richard Gordon.
The beneficiaries would be able to meet their basic needs with the PHP3,500 cash assistance.
“Handa lagi ang Philippine Red Cross na tumulong at magbigay pagasa sa ating mga kababayan na labis na naapektuhan ng Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). Ang cash grant na ito ay magagamit upang makapag simula muli ang mga nawalan ng trabaho, single parents, at mga senior citizens (The Philippine Red Cross is always ready to help and give hope to our countrymen who were greatly affected by the enhanced community quarantine. This cash grant can be used to start again by those who lost their jobs, single parents and senior citizens),” Gordon said.
According to the Inter-Agency Task Force guidelines, PRC targets 1,844 households in Manila and Quezon City, which would be divided into several batches.
