MANILA – Good weather is anticipated within Visayas and Mindanao areas, while rain is likely in some parts of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon, which is scheduled to hit the island on Wednesday, according to a weather forecaster.

The provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Bataan, and Zambales will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

“Take precautions against possible flooding,” warned Benison Estareja, a weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

As a result of localized thunderstorms, the remaining areas of Luzon will experience cloudy skies and rains.

Rain showers may only last for a brief period.

Contrarily, the Visayas and Mindanao will experience fair and sunny weather.

Thunderstorms are possible, but only for a brief period of time.

Moreover, the tropical depression that is being tracked outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was last sighted 1,780 kilometers east of southern Luzon.

“This is a weak tropical cyclone, a tropical depression. It has a slim chance to enter PAR, and a slim chance to affect any part of the country,” Estareja added that it is unlikely to intensify the southwest monsoon.

Over northern Luzon, moderate to heavy winds and moderate to rough waves will persist.

Winds will be light to moderate elsewhere, with slight to moderate seas.
