MANILA – The country’s total number of patients who recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reached 1,467,269, with 5,573 new recoveries on Sunday.
The figure corresponds to a 94.7% recovery rate from 1,548,755 cases since the pandemic began last year, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
The DOH also confirmed 5,479 additional cases, increasing the overall number of active cases in the country to 54,262, or 3.5% of all cases.
There are 93.4% mild cases, 1.2% asymptomatic cases, 2.3% severe cases, 1.63% moderate cases, and 1.4% are in critical condition.
There were also 93 new deaths, bringing the overall number of fatalities to 27,224, or 1.76% of all cases.
According to the DOH, five duplicate cases were eliminated from the total case count, three of which were actual recoveries.
Meanwhile, after final validation, 50 patients formerly categorized as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities.
On July 23, the DOH reported that 13.1% of 47,000 people tested positive for Covid-19.
All laboratories were functioning on July 23, however three were unable to submit data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.
The three non-reporting laboratories account for 0.1% of samples tested and 0.2% of positive individuals, according to data from the previous 14 days.
To date, 57% of 3,500 intensive care unit beds, 47% of 19,500 isolation beds, 44% of 12,000 ward beds, and 38% of 2,800 ventilators designated to Covid-19 patients are in use across the country.
In Metro Manila, 46% of the 1,100 intensive care unit beds, 41% of the 4,700 isolation beds, 37% of the 3,400 ward beds, and 36% of the 1,000 ventilators allocated to Covid-19 patients are being utilized.
