MANILA – The plan of the Department of Health (DOH) to acquire four high-end laptops has been put on hold, according to a health official.
Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega revealed in an online media forum that the Department of Health wants to purchase four laptops worth PHP700,000 for the use in knowledge management and information technology.
“However, to date, the procurement transaction was put on hold pending the result of further market study and prevailing market price for these laptops,” Vega said.
The DOH’s Central Office Bids and Awards Committee (COBAC) declared on August 11 that the submissions and opening of bids for high-end laptops procurement would be postponed.
On August 4, a COBAC document outlining the request for the “best and final offer” for the four laptops and their accessories for PHP700,000 was published.
