MANILA – According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 tracker on Sunday, about 27 million Filipinos are now totally protected against coronavirus infections.
The Philippines has already administered 59,134,236 doses throughout the country, based on the National Covid-19 Vaccination Dashboard.
In total, 31,862,067 doses were administered as first doses, while 27,272,169 doses were administered as second shots.
In the previous seven days, the country’s average daily immunization rate was 518,294 doses.
NTF chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. has stated that the government intends to increase the average daily doses supplied to up to 1.5 million doses in order to accomplish the government’s goal of protecting at least 50 million Filipinos by the end of the year.
The vaccination rate is projected to rise as the nationwide pediatric vaccination begins on November 3, targeting 12.7 million minors aged 12 to 17 years.
Previous immunization initiatives prioritized patients with comorbidities.
According to Galvez, at least 157 hospitals and non-hospital immunization sites will be used.
Booster shots for health care workers may also be given in November, depending on the Emergency Use Authorization modifications and the World Health Organization’s final recommendation.
