MANILA – The BRP Ang Pangulo (ACS-25), the presidential yacht that was turned into a floating hospital after Typhoon Odette’s devastation in large parts of the Visayas and Mindanao last December, has provided medical assistance to 926 more residents of Dinagat Islands in its most recent mission last week.
“BRP Ang Pangulo with her onboard medical team continues to provide medical services to the people of Dinagat Islands. The hospital ship treated 926 patients from the Municipality of Dinagat on 21 January 2022,” the BRP Ang Pangulo said in a post on its Facebook page Sunday night.
So far, the medical and humanitarian missions being conducted by BRP Ang Pangulo have served 2,450 patients from the Dinagat Islands and Siargao.
The BRP Ang Pangulo is part of the 27-ship flotilla deployed by the Philippine Navy (PN) to aid communities hit by “Odette”.
The ship sailed from Manila on December 19, transporting thousands of relief goods and other necessities for the affected people in Mindanao.
Commander Benjo Negranza, PN spokesperson, previously stated that they are utilizing their resources to help disaster-stricken areas in order to ensure the timely delivery of relief goods to typhoon victims.
