MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte’s public service for the people will continue until the end of his term, Malacañang assured on Wednesday.
According to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, acting presidential spokesperson, Duterte has always been serving to the best interest of the country and the Filipino people, and it will be sustained in the last five months of his term as Philippine president.
Nograles also expressed gratitude to the public for granting Duterte a “very good” net satisfaction rating of positive 60 based on the December 2021 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
“I think this is unprecedented. Kung ikumpara natin si Pangulong Duterte (if we are to compare President Duterte) at this point that towards the last month of his administration, compared to previous presidents at this point also that towards their respective last months in their administration, si Pangulong Duterte po – kung hindi ako nagkakamali – ang may highest net satisfaction rating, ito iyong December 2021 (if I am not mistaken, he got the highest net satisfaction rating, in this December 2021),” Nograles said.
Duterte will work harder until June as his response to the Filipino people who have continued to show their support to the government, Nograles said.
“What is the best for the greatest number, what is…ano ‘yung public service na nakita na natin kay Pangulong Duterte, ipagpatuloy po niya ‘yan hanggang sa katapusan ng kaniyang termino (The public service that we have seen from President Duterte will continue until end of his term),” Nograles said.
Throughout Duterte’s presidency, free irrigation system, free higher and technical education, and free college tuition are among his legacy.
Duterte has been committed in addressing the country’s key problems, including drugs, criminality, maintaining peace and order, corruption, and insurgency, among others.
Despite the obstacles posed by the Covid-19 outbreak, the Duterte administration improved the country’s Universal Health Care system.
Nograles added that Duterte has always been determined in pushing effective response strategies on the health crisis.
“Na naging decisive at mabilis po ‘yung aksyon ni Pangulong Duterte at ng kaniyang administrasyon dito sa laban against Covid-19 at ang mamanahin ng susunod ng administrasyon ay mas marami siguro ang 90 million na mga Filipinos ang target natin na fully vaccinated (President Duterte and his administration have been decisive and swift to fight against Covid-19. The next administration will inherit the targeted 90 million fully-vaccinated Filipinos),” he added.
The Palace hopes that towards the end of Duterte’s term, the public can return to the new normal.
