PRRD appoints 58 new DOJ prosecutors

MANILA — President Duterte has authorized the appointment of 58 additional prosecutors to various positions in the Department of Justice.

According to DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra, the appointees include four prosecutors who were promoted to the rank of Prosecutor IV.

Mary Ann Tugbang-Torres was assigned to Zamboanga del Sur, replacing Dimapuno Magangcong. Josephine Lacson Acuyado was assigned to Guimaras. She replaced Luzermindo Calmorin.

Vito Tesiorna Gotostos was appointed to Surigao del Sur, replacing Florito Cuartero. Emelyn Nacin-Catolico was designated to the Zambales prosecutor’s office. She replaced Jorge Baculi.

Prosecutor III Michael Aragon Vito Cruz was promoted to senior assistant state prosecutor. Prosecutor II Pearl Charisse Bautista and Prosecutor II Ashleigh Panopio were both promoted to assistant state prosecutor.

Meanwhile, Vito Cruz, Bautista and Panopio will be designated to the Office of the Secretary of Justice prosecution staff.

The remaining prosecutors have been appointed in Manila, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Quezon City, and Taguig.

In February alone, Duterte has appointed and promoted 116 prosecutors.

House committees to hold hearings during break
