PRRD to attend Sara’s oath-taking

DAVAO CITY — President Duterte will attend the inaugural of his eldest daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio as she takes her oath as the 15th vice president of the country on June 19.

Based on the reports, preparations are in full motion for the President to attend his daughter’s inauguration at the San Pedro Square along the renowned San Pedro Street.

Security has been heightened in preparation for the historic event, which will feature both father and daughter on the same stage.

It also happens that Father’s Day falls on June 19, which will mark the first time the two are seen together in public, especially after the campaign for the May 9 national and local elections.

It is expected that Duterte’s attendance at the inauguration will end months of rumors that the father and daughter are not on good terms.

Besides elder Duterte, president-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo and all other past presidents and vice presidents are also invited to Sara’s inaugural.

Aside from family and close kin, officials and other guests from Manila and other parts of the country are expected to attend Sara’s inaugural. On June 22, her brother Sebastian, who is incoming mayor of Davao City, is expected to take his oath.

The President is also expected to attend Sebastian’s inaugural.
