MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will construct more infrastructure projects under the ‘Build, Build, Build’ initiative, which began under former President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

According to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, the prioritization of infrastructure has been ordered by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which would help in the food security program of the government amid the rising inflation.

“The current administration will continue to pursue big-ticket projects under the Build, Build, Build Program as instructed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,” he said in a statement.

The DPWH head further stated that the infrastructure projects are those that would help farmers like farm-to-market roads in convergence with the Department of Agriculture.

He also said other priorities are the interconnectivity of regions and convergence programs with other agencies.

Through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Program, the DPWH will continue to engage the private sector in the improvement of the country’s road network, according to Bonoan.

Meanwhile, he told the public that he “would lead by example” in developing professionalism among his colleagues, and that the department encourages insightful public feedback and comments.

“We encourage the public to reach out and help in nation-building. Any issue or complaint may be coursed through our social media pages, email, and hotline numbers,” Bonoan said.
