MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded an additional 2,018 cases of the highly contagious disease, bringing the total number of active Covid-19 cases throughout the country close to 14,000.
According to the DOH, the additional cases brought the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country to 3,718,467.
The DOH said 13,818 of the total number of cases are still active, while 3,644,009 have recovered from the disease.
As of Sunday, the number of those who got infected reached 60,640.
The National Capital Region logged the most number of new cases in the last 14 days with 8,016, followed by Calabarzon with 3,536, and Western Visayas with 1,535.
Based on the data reported by the DOH, the hospital bed occupancy rate remains low at 20.3 percent despite the ongoing surge in Covid-19 cases.
