NDRRMC: Families affected by Typhoon Neneng near 30K

MANILA – The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its update Tuesday that the number of families affected by Typhoon Neneng has reached 29,544 or 103,662 individuals.

These affected families are residing in 331 barangays in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

There are 71 evacuation centers sheltering 601 families or 1,865 individuals while the remainder either have returned home or are seeking shelter with relatives or friends as of this posting.

Reports of two people injured in Cagayan Valley are being verified. As of as now, no fatalities nor missing persons have been reported.

Houses damaged by Neneng are placed at 38 in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and CAR.

The total included 36 partially damaged houses and two totally damaged houses.

Agriculture damage was estimated at PHP7.6 million, involving 503.57 hectares of crop lands classified as partially damaged in Ilocos Region.

Infrastructure damage has reached PHP81.5 million in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley and CAR.

House committees to hold hearings during break
