DOH logs 11,995 new Covid-19 cases in the past week

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that a total of 11,995 new Covid-19 cases logged during the past week.

According to the DOH’s weekly case bulletin, the daily average cases are at 1,714 which is 22 percent lower than cases from October 10 to October 16.

DOH also documented four cases of severe and critical Covid-19 infections. There are now 650 severe and critical Covid-19 admissions, accounting for 9% of total Covid-19 hospital admissions.

On the other hand, 581 or 23.1 percent out of 2,520 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are being utilized while 5,666 or 26.4 percent out of 21,474 non-ICU beds are being used.

The DOH, meanwhile, reported 272 additional deaths due to Covid-19, 26 of which occurred between October 10 to October 23.

Of the 272 deaths, 28 occurred in October 2022, three in September 2022, three in August 2022, one in January 2022, 186 in August 2021, 14 in July 2021, 19 in May 2021, and 18 in April 2021.

Regarding Covid-19 vaccination, there are now 73,482,574 vaccinated individuals while 20,472,983 who have received booster doses.

House committees to hold hearings during break
