KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed that Filipino workers in Malaysia and in other parts of the world will not run out of opportunities.

During his meeting with the Filipino community here, Marcos assured them that the welfare of  overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) is always part of his agenda in his foreign trips.

We need to strengthen the relationship of the Philippines and Malaysia. First because there are many Filipinos here and we need to ensure that all of you are being taken care of, all of you have good livelihood, and are given opportunities),” Marcos said.

The President stressed that the reason why Filipinos opted to leave the country was to get better opportunities, thus the administration must make sure that these opportunities will continue to be offered to Filipinos.

We need to ensure that these opportunities will remain and while you are working here, you are not having a hard time and if you have a problem, the government is here to do all it can to help you),” he stated.

Marcos also thanked the overseas Filipinos for their contribution to the Philippines, especially in maintaining the good reputation of Filipino workers around the world.

He told them that since he assumed the presidency, every world leader he meets would praise the work ethic of Filipinos.

“Kailangan talaga kayong pasalamatan dahil ang reputasyon ng Pilipinas ay gumanda nang gumanda (We really need to thank you because the reputation of the Philippines keeps on improving),” the chief executive said. (MB)
