Presidential Communications Office Assistant Secretary Joey Villarama disclosed that nearly 4,000 farmers have been impacted by the dry spell in these areas.

The Task Force El Niño reported that the government has been offering various forms of aid to affected farmers, including heat-tolerant seeds, domestic animals, and financial assistance.

“Apart from the direct interventions for them, we are also rehabilitating the irrigation canals and their equipment to further help the greatly-affected farmers,” Villarama said.
