PAGASA: Hot weather to intensify

MANILA — The country will experience continued warming especially in Metro Manila due to the expected end of the northeast monsoon or amihan this week.

“May konting northeast pa but this week maybe we will terminate na ang northeast that will trigger warm and dry season,” said Ana Solis, chief of PAGASA’s Climatology and Agrometology division.

Because of the expected end of amihan this week, expect hot weather as well during Holy Week and the beginning of the month of April.

Solis first said that the heat factor that will be experienced in the country especially in Metro Manila will reach more than 40 degrees celcius by the beginning of April due to the effect of El Niño.

The hot weather will be experienced until May, so the public is advised to be careful and not leave the house from 10 am to 4 pm unless there is an important walk.

Health experts advise to drink water during the summer to avoid dehydration and to wear fresh clothes to avoid feeling too hot.

House committees to hold hearings during break
