Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Wednesday denied rumors that he is already being invited by aspiring presidential candidates to be part of the ticket as vice president in the 2022 elections.

“Wala. I have to be honest. Wala naman. In fairness to those people aspiring to be the president of the country. Wala namang nag-a-abiso sa akin,” Moreno said during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay program when asked about plans in the 2022 elections.

Moreno said he wants to focus on Manila’s strategy to defeat the coronavirus which have infected more than 9,000 residents in his city.

“There is no point to survey about politics today. One, two years pa ang election. Two, there is pandemic, kaya more than anything else, more than the sand, whatever they are doing there, there (are) people dying here (Manila),” the mayor said.

Moreno earlier cited that there are 880 active cases out of the 9,258 total COVID-19 cases in the capital city.
