President Rodrigo Duterte maintains that he is not afraid to be prosecuted over his administration’s bloody anti-illegal drugs campaign, insisting that his government is doing what is right for the greater good and benefit of the majority.

He also renounced former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s pronouncement that he is “trembling in fear” after International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Fatou Bensouda’s office released an official report saying there was “reasonable basis” to believe that he and his administration has committed crimes against humanity in the drug war.

“‘Yang kay Trillanes, may ano siya statement. Natatakot daw ako. Hindi ako natatakot,” he said in a late night public address.

“Ako, magpakamatay ako sa prinsipyo ko. Kung iyang prinsipyo ko na ‘yan ikamatay ko, okay ‘yan sa akin. Ipakulong ako habangbuhay, okay sa akin ‘yan. Ginagawa ko ang tama,” he said.

Moreover, the president also renewed his commitment to support law enforcers charged with killing while in the line of duty.
