DOH: Fight against COVID-19 far from over

The Department of Health on Saturday emphasized that it is too early to tell if we are winning the fight against COVID-19. The “fight is far from over” so there is no certainty about the dire situation the country is facing.

“Wala namang certain sa ngayon. We all know that the situation is really evolving.

[There is nothing certain at the moment. We all know that the situation is really evolving. We cannot tell yet if we are winning or not because we believe that the fight is far from over.]

Despite this, Vergeire noted that the government’s efforts have brought COVID-19 under control.

[Even if we say that the cases continue to increase, we don’t deny that, but the capacity of our health system is still there to prop up the continued surging of cases.]
