Vice President Leni Robredo’s office continue to work on helping COVID-19 frontliners and is now expanding relief efforts in Cebu City by building more dormitories and ferry service for the city’s frontliners.

Thanks to the Office of the Vice President’s partnerships with the private sector, two more free dorms have been opened for health workers.

The sixth dormitory is located in the capitol site of Cebu City near Cebu Doctors University Hospital, Chong Hua Hospital, and Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The other is at Fuente Osmena near Cebu Velez General Hospital, Visayas Community Medical Center, and the three above-mentioned hospitals.

Robredo said her office opened additional dorms because of the deluge of requests from frontliners for accommodations and relief in Cebu City.

Robredo apologized to those who have yet to be accommodated in these dorms due to limited slots in compliance with physical distancing measures.

“We continue to look for partners because of the long waitlist and we have received many requests from Lapu-Lapu City,” she said in Filipino.
