Vice President Leni Robredo called President Rodrigo Duterte’s threatening statements against her “very unpresidential,” as the country continues to grapple with the lingering effects of recent typhoons and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think that’s very unpresidential. Pero karapatan naman niyang sabihin kung ano yung dapat niyang sabihin” she said in a media interview while staying in Camarines Sur on Wednesday.

Duterte on Tuesday spent at least 20 minutes of his weekly address on the COVID-19 pandemic and Typhoon Ulysses rehabilitation updates to single out and criticize the vice president’s efforts on the relief operations for typhoon-hit Filipinos.

Moreover, he warned Robredo that he has a lot to say against her should she decide to run for the presidency in the 2022 elections.

“During the campaign, papaalis na ako, sige subukan mo. Matagal na akong maraming gusto sabihin sa iyo. Ireserba ko. When you start your campaign kapag magtakbo ka ng president, waswasan kita ng husto. This is your nightmare,” Duterte said

[During the campaign, I am about to end my term, just try me. I have long been holding back, but I will reserve my words. When you start your campaign when you run for president, I will really go after you.]
