House continues reshuffling key leadership posts

The House of Representatives, under the leadership of House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, continues its reshuffling until the last session day before adjourning for the Christmas break.

New deputy speaker positions have been given to Cavite Rep. Bambol Tolentino and Davao City Rep. Isidro Ungab, bringing the number to 32.

Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor, known ally of ousted speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, was removed from the chairperson post in the Committee on Public Accounts. He was replaced by Probinsyano Ako Party-list Rep. Jose “Bonito” Singson, Jr.

Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin, Jr. was also elected as chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments.

Meanwhile, Gabriela Women’s Party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas was elected as assistant minority leader.
