Vaccines coming from the World Health Organization-led COVAX Facility will only be delayed for one week, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. confirmed.
It was deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force Against Covid-19 Vince Dizon who first disclosed the delay on shipment of 117,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine via COVAX Facility. According to him, this was caused by a problem in the processing of documents. Dizon did not specify which documents caused the hitch.
The Philippines was originally expecting the delivery of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines from the COVAX Facility by mid-February.
