Rainy season is coming: PAGASA

According to the state weather bureau, the start of the rainy season associated with the southwest monsoon will likely happen in last week of May to mid-June.

Ezra Bulquerin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said start of the rainy season is concluded when there is a recording of 25 millimeters or more of rainfall for three consecutive days in at least seven out of its 14 stations, and the prevalence of the southwest monsoon.

The declaration of the rainy season applies to areas under Type 1 Climate with distinct dry and wet seasons: Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Mindoro, Palawan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales and Metro Manila.

Bulquerin said no weather disturbance is expected to affect the country in the next three to five days.
