MANILA – The United States Embassy in Manila on Wednesday has expressed confidence that the embattled Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy will “face justice” amid the various charges hurled against him before a US court.

This statement from the embassy comes in response to Quiboloy’s allegations of being targeted by the US and the Marcos administration through “rendition”.

The embassy spokesperson, Kanishka Gangopadhyay, refrained from elaborating on the accusation, emphasizing that details regarding legal proceedings must be obtained from the US Department of Justice. Instead, Gangopadhyay referenced Quiboloy’s indictment in a US court, highlighting allegations of his involvement in “serious human rights abuses” over a prolonged period.

“We are confident that Quiboloy will face justice for his heinous crimes,” he added.

Quiboloy faces serious charges after being indicted by a federal grand jury in Santa Ana, California. These charges include conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, as well as sex trafficking of children, sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, conspiracy, and bulk cash smuggling.

A federal warrant for his arrest was issued on November 10, 2021.

On Wednesday, Quiboloy accused the US of planning to conduct “rendition” on him. Rendition involves one state surrendering a fugitive to another country where they are charged with a crime.
